I think this forum is lacking 'glue' of some usual social kind, nicely built and well promoted but not having 'clicked'. I've been troubled for years about how many of the 'greens' favor their warm fuzzy thinking, and shrink from the great sustainability questions. Maybe we're in a time now where the inadequacy of the fuzzy thinking is becoming apparent... I don't know.

I am confused as to why there are so few members in the Discovery Fuel groups as a whole. After noticing that this isn't a brand-new site and has been around for a while, I'm not sure why it hasn't caught on. I belong to a Yahoo group about Carl Jung's Analytic Psychology, and a message was posted there telling us about Discovery Fuel and suggesting that we go to the site and check it out. I did so, and joined a bunch of domains. But there are so few members in any of them; I wonder what the problem is myself.
Perhaps a clarification of what we're talking about in this domain might help. I'm not even sure what topics relate: conservation, recycling, changing our thinking and attitudes toward Mother Earth in general? I hesitate to start a discussion because I'm unclear as to what is appropriate.

- Vic set this all up, and tried seeding it with a range of topics for going outside the normal 'box' of green thinking. It's not clear why he's had so few takers. I often approach a problem from asking "what's missing here". Something's missing. What do you think?

- Changing Normal is... for a planet stuck in the past, and the vision around the world is little more than a self-negation "less not more". I was also thinking this morning that one of the problems with defining our problem as our "taker" self-image is that neither of the poles of being more or less of a taker make you a "healer"... A healer has to start with "do no harm" and study the many ways symptom response can add to bigger crisis conditions, and explore the wilderness for how to avoid that. That's not simply the idea of reducing one's takings for selfish use, but adds learning to use your takings for better use. Maybe the problem isn't our takings, but that we haven't learned to use them for healing?
