A Design Portal for Cocreating a Global Wisdom Community

Domain Action: "BREADTH" PAGE is below ("DEPTH" PAGE is here)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello ChangingNormal.com Members !
We are headed for 333 members as our first eLand-mark! Thanks to all for your joining the grand experiment. Here's a pic of our community so far. Truly an amazing assortment of heroes we are ! ! !

Look below this pic for a next-steps outline.

WELCOME ! ! YOU HAVE ENTERED THE DESIGN PORTAL FOR COCREATING A GLOBAL WISDOM COMMUNITY. HERE'S WHATCHYA GOTTA DO NEXT ...

When we hit the 333 members mark, broader strokes of collaboration and online learning will be enabled. Note that we are headed for a community containing 333,333,333 of us cultural creatives who are engaged in real design for our planetary communities by the year ending 2012. So tell your "want-to-make-it-happen" kinds of friends to join us. Send them to the main site page at http://ChangingNormal.com. For more information on what's up with the community, go to the main page and review the box titled "WHAT'S HAPPENING WITHIN OUR "CHANGING NORMAL" DISCOVERY COMMUNITY ..."

So. Now then. I'd like us all to ssssssslowly move a bit further into the portal's spinning tunnel at this time. We will take small baby steps as we enter into this realm of unknown, all while keeping an intent to consciously and collaboratively "design". Let chaos and overwhelm be your guide rather than your enemy and move into it, not away from it. Find ways to 'make' time, rather than tell yourself you don't have time. And remember, no matter what action you decide to take (including none at all) that it is a conscious choice that you are making. No one else has control over that part of you.

------

So, herrrrrrrre we go. Try out this weekly small-steps approach to taking action within the community. Add 15/20 minutes to your weekly schedule so your actions happen. Copy/paste the to-do item below for each week into your calendar. This is how we will build a thriving 'community of practice'.

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 1: WATCH THE INTRODUCTION VIDEOS
Check out these intro videos of yours truly talking about what in the world this is all about. It will help set the stage for how you understand the process and hopefully ignite a passion in you that fuels this community's evolution.

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 2: UPDATE YOUR "MY PAGE"
Update your "My Page" with more stuff that are pertinent to this work. What do you want others to know about you? Add links to your Social Media sites, your businesses, pictures that tell us more about who you are, etc. And please PLEASE add a picture of yourself so we can SEEEEEEE you :)

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 3: JOIN ONE DOMAIN
Second, about half of you said that you would like to get involved in some way and/or join domains and see what happens. So, now is the time to join them. Choose one domain that really really really gets your juices flowing. Remember that participation is not only about expertise, but even more so, it is about your passion and interest. Listen to your gut closely as you par-ooze the domains (see this page for a description of all domains). Which ones give you that tickle in your stomach? Also, know that selecting only one domain right now by no means will inhibit you from learning about all the other domains. But that will come later during our cross-pollination period. And for those of you who are rrrrrreally into it, you can sign up for up to 3 domains, but no more okay? We want to avoid anyone in our community from getting overwhelmed and jumping ship. So help me out here.

Now, once you've chosen a domain, go to the domain groups listing , click on the domain of your choice, and become a member of that domain group. Be sure that you add the RSS feed to your enews tool. Or if you don't know what that is, at least be sure that your setting on this page are set so that you are getting notices by email when changes are made to to your domain page by you or anyone else. This will help to build the level of interaction.

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 4: ADD ONE PIECE OF AMAZING CONTENT
During this early 'subjective' stage of community development, we need to fuel each domain with incredible content. This effort is about gathering fodder for the mill, which will trigger a future stage of generative dialogs. Remember that we are taking the first steps here toward manifesting ideals into reals (more on this later). So, just pick one (no more than three) items to add to your domain of choice. Include questions, not just solutions, okay? Choose either the 'comment' wall, write a provocative article for the 'discussion forum' within your domain, or embed in a utube (or other) video. Be sure any content is on your domain's page. Add images where ever you can in your writings. But just do one content-oriented thing.

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 5: TAKE THE DOMAIN INQUIRY SURVEY
This is a first cut at deepening our understanding of the domain we are engaged in. Actually, I prefer to say that this inquiry process will help us to OVERstand the situation, to see it from a more conscious perspective, and begin to see how it ties into an ecology of design with the other domains. This survey will take some brain power so take your time and don't hurt your synapses. You can come back to the survey over and over if you don't get it done in the first sitting. Here's the link to the inquiry survey: Click Here To Take Survey

YOUR ACTION FOR WEEK 6: CONNECT WITH TWO OTHER PEOPLE AND START A CONVERSATION
Now, it starts getting juicy. For it is innate in our humanity to connect. It feeds us, it fuels our spirits! There are many ways to connect with others. Start by doing a site search on some key words that are meaningful to you. Then, see who is using those words and review some of those folks 'my pages'. Then, go to the http://Colabs.us tools discussion page to get access to free connectivity tools that will allow you to connect with each other via audio, chat, shared whiteboards, shared virtual meeting rooms, etc. Ask your small group: What it means to be 'normal' for a given domain concept. Go from there.

Now the fun starts.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One final point:
Early on here, we are in the 'subjective stages of evolution. This is the place where inspiration (spirit) and innovation (mind) interact. Then, as things accelerate, we will be moving our efforts into practical/objective mode. This is where innovation (mind) and invention (body) spark. So, all you doers, hang in there with the earlier stage of choosing our 'being'. :) We'll get from aetherical manifestation and into tangible manifesting - I assure you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See you inside the design portal's ethers! Watch for Dragons!

The Gift: Remembering Our Humanity in the Making of Something New

Have you ever noticed how video ratings get very close but rarely hit “5” as an average? Well, these 3 videos hit that big ‘5’ rating, with the first two presently around a million views, and the third ‘hugs’ video having over 57 million. Why do these videos have such huge ratings and viewings? I propose an answer:

In these views videos, our humanity is spoken…

The Awakening (Author unknown)

A time comes in your life when you finally get…when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out…ENOUGH1 Enough fighting and crying and blaming and struggling to hold on. Then, like a child quieting down after a tantrum, you blink back your tears and begin to look at the world through new eyes.

This is your… Continue
