YOU ARE HERE (see pic below) at ChangingNormal.com ... We are in a place of shared discovery; a place where Cultural Creatives are considering what the world can be like if we define it as a global Learning Community based on a multi-lens perspective of how we create our world. Through humanity's collective eye, we can see our own transition - a shifting perspective; a new global mythology. From a place with small villages of isolated peoples on a sphere we didn't know really existed, to an expanded awareness that our world was a 'flat' collection of separate nations, to our present understanding that we are an interconnected spherical planetary society existing within an intelligent fractal Universe. WHOA !! Nothing is normal anymore. Yet, it's all truly amazing isn't it? I mean when you really think about it? First is the fact that we are just plain alive on this planet (truly mind boggling). And second, is that we are experiencing a curious breakdown of the things that we've come to know as 'NORMAL'. While at the same time, we are generating something completely new and emergent. From within the dark crevices of this collapse, we find magical shimmering gems of regeneration and creation. This is what ChangingNormal.com is all about.

 

 

Kinda makes ya wonder what's next, doesn't it !? Well, as Monty Python once said, "... And now for something completely different." Fo it is here at this 'changing normal' pinnacle of time and space where we honor our world's great change-shifters. Yes, this community if for those of us who I like to call "Cultural Mis-Fits" - those who make up the searing hot edge of a shifting consciousness. When we hit 333 members, next steps will be taken to move our community forward another step. So, who do you know that will want to join us?

But this is only the beginning, since we have a 'hairy and audacious' community membership objective to link up 333,333,333 of us (I like three's :), which is less than 3% of our world's population of 8,000,000,000 (that's 8 billion) people on the planet around the year 2012. These 3% will be actively implementing ChangingNormal acticities based on the domains within 333,333 city charters, business, education, and NGO infrastructures by the end of year 2012.

I know, I know: How the hec are we gonna do that? Well let's start with the vision and see what emerges. Remember that this is a community collaborative effort. No 'one' of us can make it happen, so we all must learn how to collaborate beyond our present day understanding in order to make this work. A challenge? Yup. But, what a way to birth something new and exciting for each one of us on this planet, ehhhhy?! So, join us as we step into this unknown but incredibly fun effort.

Welcome to our world-of-culture design community

We are a unique community of practice seeking adventurous ways to design and develop new forms of culture. Are you a creator of appropriate technologies that are consciously developed and can work for an interdependent planetary society? Well then, here is a place for you to build networks and teams with others that are interested in collaboratively building healthy communities and innovative organizations that are based in principles of sustainable design, organizational learning, and social entrepreneurship. By the way, who can tell me why technology is not a specific 'domain'? So, where does it get applied?

"Hey pal. This is a place for "OUT"-OF-THE-BOX creativity!"

NOW THEN ... Take a look at the Domains of Innovation used for Creating Sustainable Learning Communities. They're over there <-- to the left, just below "Abby Normal" (as in 'not normal' or 'a change in what's normal'). These domains can be viewed as portals into new realms of living and experiencing. Each domain is linked to a wiki so that domain members can begin to plot a course together. .... Use photos, language, music, etc. to describe what you think each domain is about to become in terms of new structures, processes, and behavioral patterns. Determine which domains you have interest in evolving and START A DISCUSSION SUBJECT within those domain groups! You will find meta-knowledge frameworks used for gathering, creating, and innovating that can be of help with conceiving.

Also, there is a crucial step to get out of our own boxes of belief and ways thinking. The inspirations of folks on TED.com videos do a great job of helping us to re-view our assumptions and beliefs. The below pic is to my point - ya gotta do this one to help you realize how much our filters impact what we see, what we think ... what we believe. It exemplifies how much our perception colors our story of ourselves and our reality. I still don’t believe that I believe what I’m seeing here :/

WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR OTHERS TO CHANGE?

AT THE CRUX OF THE PROBLEM IS WHAT ''YOU'' THINK AND BELIEVE.

So, go ahead and add videos that warp (or unwarp?) our thinking, like the idea above. Or add to the BLOG to help develop your own dialogue around this kind of culture-changing work. Or, consider a forum for opening discussions and conversations. For it is through dialogue that the world begins to -consciously- gather insight in ways that expand what we know into the infinitely knowable. This, by the way, is what we all feel as 'play'. Your engagement in this playful work is how others will become inspired to do the same, and how we will collectively begin to gather the Creative powers of change that mystify, generate awe, colorfully inspires, and ultimately transforms our world.
